Roads and other networks
The construction of roads and other networks is one of the specialties of our company.
TBP is specialized in the realization of new subdivisions and the rehabilitation and urban renovation including roads, drinking water networks, sewerage networks, rainwater networks, electrical networks… State-owned public companies as well as private developers are our main clients.
Rainwater networks fonction ?
A network is a series of pipes connecting various structures and usually leading to processing plants. It includes sewage pump houses, storm spillways, sluice gates. Data can be gathered from rain gauges, by measuring flow rates, heights, speeds, silt levels, and by analysing the nature of these flows. Mechanisms can be regulated through automatic systems or by remote control. The structure of the network may also be adapted to varying needs.
The operator of a drainage network is responsible for implementing programmes to preserve both the natural and urban environments against damage wrought by floods and pollution.
Earthworks
The earthworks occur in large hydraulic works such as reservoirs of large capacity up to 20000 m3, treatment and desalination plants, water treatment plants, dams.
How does desalination work?
Seawater desalination is the removal of salt and impurities from seawater to produce fresh water. Most of desalination plants use a reverse osmosis process. Seawater is pumped into the desalination plant from the ocean and passes through pre-treatment filtration to remove most of the large and small particles.
The filtered seawater is then forced under pressure through special membranes whereby the osmosis process that normally occurs in nature is reversed. The pores in the membranes are so tiny that salt, bacteria, viruses and other impurities are separated from the seawater. In essence they act like microscopic strainers. About half of the water that enters the plant from the sea becomes fresh drinking water.
The desalinated water is then subject to further treatment to meet drinking water standards.
