The company has a large customer portfolio throughout Tunisia, but also abroad, and maintain a relationship of mutual trust, thanks to its seriousness and the respect for its commercial commitments.

HISTORY

Since its creation in 1988 as a public limited company, SOMEF has always strived to develop its resources, establish its structures and diversify the quality of its products. The company currently employs 270 staff members including engineers, technicians, managers and skilled workers. As well, the trading company SOMEF Distribution was created in 1997, in order to commercialize electrical complementary products and solutions to the ranges of Somef Tunisia.
These two companies are localized in the industrial zone of Sidi Rézig, 5 minutes from the commercial port of Rades and 15 minutes from the Tunis Carthage airport.

In 1993, SOMEF Tunisia sealed a strategic partnership with the AVE group, a great and renowned Italian manufacturer. The same year SOMEF started manufacturing of the modular range, called “system 45”.

In 2005, the company integrated the production of the circuit breakers. In 2008, the products were extended with the introduction of a new range of medium/high standard equipment called “system 44”, and in 2009, it continued its business development by launching news products, mainly videophone, motion detectors and many solution for home automation.

In 2010, the company commited itself in an upgrade plan which enabled it to increase its production capacities, particulary by investing in new automatic machines Similarly, a global quality approach has been in place since 2002, and has resulted in the certification of the ISO 9001 quality system, as well as the certification for certain products according to NF and IMQ standards.

In 2012 SOMEF integrated the Hotel Management solution, and in 2015 the Hospital Management solution.

In 2019, SOMEF was proud to launch its new system 43 range which allowed it to further establish its leadership on the market with a product 100% Made in Tunisia which meets international requirements.
